About me

A detail-oriented and analytical minded professional with 7 years of experience in data analytics, scientific programming and statistical analysis. I’ve managed multiple projects that gathered and transformed raw data for analysis, wrote algorithms to identify signals and trends in large data sets using statistical methods, and developed answers to complex, open-ended questions. I authored 10 journal papers from this work, co-authored over 35 papers as part of international collaborations, and communicated our work to internal stakeholders and colleagues in reports and at conferences. Highly motivated, resourceful and with a strong attention to detail, I am now looking to apply my skills to new challenges and problems.

2012-2016 Masters in Physics @ University of Manchester

Experience

Aug 2020 - Jun 2023 Postdoctoral Research Scholar @ Arizona State University

β€’ Developed and executed multiple research projects to characterise the magnetic activity of stars through advanced analyses of datasets, resulting in 4 publications and winning over $300,000 in federal grant funding
β€’ Built and implemented data pipelines and algorithms (Python, Excel, SQL) to transform raw data into prepared datasets, detect signals in sets of hundreds of thousands of data points and fit mathematical models to results. Provided technical leadership within our team to aid colleagues training and development
β€’ Created high-quality data visualizations (e.g. Python matplotlib) to communicate complex results to colleagues in reports and presentations, helping to inform decision making
β€’ Researched latest trends and occurrences in my field of work, identifying gaps and evolving technologies in the field which informed new projects and initiatives

Sep 2016 - Jul 2020 Graduate Researcher @ University of Warwick

β€’ Directed a survey of stellar outbursts using data sets of hundreds of thousands of stars, resulting in the formation of a new research group within an existing collaboration, 6 publications and the successful completion of my PhD thesis
β€’ Led the construction of an ETL process (SQL, Python) that integrated data from multiple sources to create a standardised dataset for use other teams. The format of this catalogue was specified through careful communication with stakeholders
