Long term financial executive with experience at state academic medical center

Plans, directs, and implements multi-departmental business management, fiscal operations, budgetary affairs, and administrative services within the Institutional Support entity. Performs highly advanced fiscal and policy administration and managerial functions. Responsible for overall development, maintenance, processing, and management of the Service Center and associated transactional duties. Oversees and is responsible for effective operational and resource allocation, management, and communication within Institutional Support.
The Director, System and State Reporting reports to the Vice President (VP) for Decision Support and provides leadership and coordination of all financial external reporting to the State of Texas and the University of Texas System. The position is responsible to gather the necessary information required by these agencies. The position serves as an advisor to the VP Decision Support and to the EVP/Chief Business and Finance Officer (CBFO) related to State and UT System business and financial information or programmatic issues that may result in major short- and long- term impacts to UTMB. The position partners with the Director, Decision Support and the Director, Budget to support analytics and budgeting activities and/or provide staff leadership reporting as needed. The Director, System and State reporting also performs analytical research as required and maintains certification and or education in this field of expertise.
Manages and assists the Director in financial and operational analysis activities with a complex functional or broad organizational scope. The senior manager will be able to assist in multiple activities at one time with little supervision.
Oversee State Regentβs Budget, Legislative Appropriation Request, and USAS budget reporting, and assist with responses to requests for information from state regulatory, legislative agencies, or other UTMB departments for financial reports, budgets, and related information.
Manages and assists the Administrator and/or Sr. Vice President in financial and operational analysis activities with a complex functional or organizational scope. The manager will be able to assist in multiple activities at one time with minimum supervision.
