I have a bachelors degree in Accounting & Finance. During my student years I have worked as a carer at A&R Guardian, this role required me to assist patients with personal hygiene, food and medication and if necessary with the household.
I was also a freelance Interpreter & Translator. I translated from Dutch to english, Somali to english and vice versa.
As a student I have also gained experience at an international organisation at my university. I had started of as a Treasurer and gradually moved to a president position. I took my team to a regional competition where we had presentations about the projects that we had developed to solve problems in the community whilst gaining profit from it. My work ethic and time management skills were put to test there. And I can confidently say that those skills are of high standard now. .
After achieving my degree, I had moved to the netherlands to finally start my career in the Finance sector professionally. I worked with Smartwares Group as a Finance employee. My every day to day work was processing bank statements and payment specification using the Microsoft Dynamics NAV System. Being in contact with clients to ensure good relations and prompt responses, payments and deliveries. When necessary I would apply for financial limits from insurers. I would be working closely with the sales department and remove sales and finance blockages for clients who failed to pay in time but managed to pay. I would also keep track of the general mailbox and sort it accordingly.
After my employment at Smartwares group, I started an Assistant Accountant role at Trimble BV. This job enabled me to learn and have more responsibilities as an assistant accountant. We had daily if not fortnightly team meetings with internal and external employees discussing dataβs and urgent matters. My roles included reconciling invoices, review and file payroll documents and prepare financial statements etc. Along with other roles, I was also responsible for helping wherever was possible and needed.
