The Senior UI UX Designer is responsible for developing the design vision and strategy while driving the execution of our customer facing products. This role will implement and maintain a design system and work closely with developers to implement the framework and design into our products. You will be customer/market focused using research and data to design experiences that delight our customers, and you will implement UX best practices into the design of the UI to produce a modern, easy to use interface that users need minimal training or experience to use.

This role is open to Full-Time, Part-Time or Contract.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a design system, making recommendations for new patterns and standardized practices
  • Create detailed UI designs for product features including low to high fidelity visual design mockups, wireframes, sketches, prototypes, and supporting design specifications and documentation
  • Lead workshops with Product, Marketing and Engineering teams in design thinking, customer journey mapping exercises, and other brainstorming sessions
  • Oversee all design elements, from the conception to final delivery
  • Advocate and help to further embed best practice Design methods both within the wider Product and Engineering teams, as well as across the company
  • Partner with Engineering and other team members in an Agile/Lean and iterative fashion to ensure proposed designs meet user needs, and are feasible to implement and reuse established interaction patterns and UI components when appropriate
  • Undertake user research, data analysis and user testing with customers translating insights and findings into tangible solutions for our product; Share and present findings from research
  • Suggest ways to validate product ideas and concepts with customers in order to verify assumptions and hypotheses, and ensure that customers will be able to realize value from a given experience being designed
  • Tell the story of the customer, their jobs-to-be-done and create consensus around user outcomes
  • Support execution of the product strategy and roadmap
  • Present design concepts and strategy to both internal and external customers
  • Demonstrate new and existing functionality to customers and stakeholders

Requirements

  • BA/BFA degree in HCI or design related field, with an emphasis on user experience, interaction design, or visual design
  • Significant experience designing user experiences and interfaces for B2B web applications or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience designing for complex user interfaces and workflows and in developing responsive design patterns and design systems that employ best practice UX
  • Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing tools
  • Expertise with design and prototyping tools
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in creating personas, mapping user needs, experiences and customer journeys
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to understand and represent the needs to the end user in a software development environment
  • Ability to process information logically
  • Skilled in time-management and prioritization to meet close deadlines
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, client representatives, product manager, software developers, and subject matter experts
  • Skilled in establishing program goals and objectives that support the strategic plan
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion
