The Copywriter is a unique opportunity on Oyster’s fast-growing marketing team to tell the stories of well-distributed companies and connect with an audience exploring this new world of work. As a content creator, you’ll have an immediate impact on the growth and scale of our content program. Reporting to the Director of Content, you’ll have the opportunity to influence strategy and work in a supportive environment.


  • Develop sharp, smart, and brand-consistent copy for the Oyster marketing team
  • Collaborate with the Website Marketing Manager and Design Technologist to develop and own copywriting for the Oyster website
  • Create compelling conversion copy for landing pages
  • Develop engaging nurture email copy and support the marketing and sales teams (as needed) in creating email copy that gets clicks
  • Create compelling blog, video script, and short-form content for Oyster Library
  • Work closely with product marketing, amplification, brand, demand gen, and internal stakeholders to support content needs
  • Continuously measure and improve content and conversion performance
  • Partner with internal and external subject matter experts and remote work influencers as part of the content ideation and creation process
  • Work closely with creative resources and partners to ensure content stays on brand and consistent with our style and tone
  • Other content-related tasks as needed

What we’re looking for

Are you a passionate storyteller? Does coming up with the perfect subject line give you a thrill? If you love creating sharp, crisp, conversion copy and distilling complex ideas into concise helpful content, we want to speak to you!

The ideal candidate is an experienced copywriter in the B2B tech space with a proven track record of executing effective content programs.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
  • You understand the role content plays in the buyer’s journey
  • You’re resourceful and manage time effectively
  • You’re an excellent writer and communicator who has a knack for distilling complex ideas into concise, easy-to-understand content
  • You’re a passionate self-starter with a curious and creative mind
  • You’re comfortable writing website copy

Skillsets that are important

  • Storytelling with a limited word count
  • Writing and editing, not only your work but the work of others
  • Managing projects, deadlines, and expectations
  • Collaborating with departments, and internal and external SMEs
  • Displaying empathy for our buyers, our customers, and colleagues

Skillsets that are not required (but are a bonus)

Plus points for:

  • High-growth SaaS startup experience
  • Category creation experience
  • Data analysis and reporting self-sufficiency
  • Experience with self-serve funnels and product-led growth
