Mighty is looking for a Director of Product Design to own, grow, and shape the design team and its direction. In this role, you and your team will build new software experiences from the ground-up while optimizing existing capabilities for our clients, our partners, and Mighty team members, helping to power a technology-enabled consumer service at scale. This role will report to the VP of Product.

This is a strategic role impacting the lives of our users, the success of our partners and customers, and the direction of our business. This role will be based in New York, NY, or be fully remote in the US.

What you’ll do:

  • Own the full user experience vision and roadmap for Mighty’s entire product suite, spanning consumers, business partners and customers, and Mighty’s own team
  • Define user journeys through a complex tech-enabled service, spanning all users’ interactions with technology and people
  • Partner with the rest of the Product team to define and iterate the full product roadmap
  • Grow, organize, lead, manage, and mentor a team of talented designers
  • Execute as a people leader and as an individual contributor in various scenarios – doing what it takes to achieve the best results for Mighty’s users and business
  • Own creation and validation of user-centric designs based on deep understanding of our users from pure research and discovery, quantitative data, usability testing, and intuition
  • Drive translation of complex solutions into optimal user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and clickable prototypes to communicate and validate designs, usability, and outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to deliver the desired UX

We want to hear from you if you:

  • Have 8+ years of UX design or other relevant experience with sophisticated B2B and B2C consumer software and tech-enabled services
  • Have experience in both start-ups and larger organizations
  • Have 2+ years of hiring, managing, and mentoring a team of 3+ designers
  • Possess deep empathy for our users and a genuine desire to help them
  • Are comfortable leading teams and executing through change, uncertainty, and ambiguity
  • Have an understanding of the difference between truly simplifying complexity versus making something simple by ignoring its complexity
  • Have expertise in user research – ranging from scrappy to best-in-class processes
  • Have excellent skills for capturing, analyzing, and applying quantitative and qualitative data
  • Have a talent for structured thinking, self and team organization, and aggressive prioritization
  • Are passionate about shaping and modeling culture, such as inclusiveness, collaboration, mutual empathy, picking up the trash, and committing to a direction despite disagreement
  • Are passionate about distilling complexity into elegant, intuitive UX

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Full Benefits – health, vision, and dental, 401(k) with company contribution
  • Flexible paid time off – take time when you need it
  • Learning and Development opportunities
  • And more!
