Support the setup, operation, and maintenance of company information and communication systems under the direction of the Network Manager.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain vessel PC and communications systems to ensure maximum reliability and uptime. Ability to travel by any mode to company facilities and towboats will be required.
  • Review new software releases and provide user training.
  • Provide user software support to vessel personnel (Lydia, Maintenance, MS Office).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Help Desk issues as assigned.
  • Set up new desktop systems as required, both onboard and in company offices.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and VBScript preferred
  • Perform network telephone system administration.
  • Maintain operational status of CBC hardware and software.
  • Ensure an accurate hardware inventory at all locations (toner, batteries, spare parts).
  • Assist in testing applications before installation and in distributing new releases.
  • Answer the Help Desk line and route request accordingly.
  • Ensure that customer relations are maintained at a level which will enable the company to attain its goals and objectives.
  • Learn company information and communications systems to be able to provide assistance w/questions or perform duties upon request.
  • Maintain Help Desk database of outstanding issues per department guidelines.
  • Maintain documentation for Standards and Guidelines of I.S. Procedures.
  • Serve on the Switchboard Relief Team.
  • Maintain conduct in accordance with the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Philosophy.
  • Perform other duties as requested by immediate supervisor and department or group manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS or similar desired preferred
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience on hardware & software systems used by the company.
  • Experience in supporting Telecommunications Systems.
  • Must be able to travel to and traverse company towboats and barges.
  • Must be able to lift 25-40 pounds.
  • Reliable automobile transportation is required for travel to and from company vessels and offices (all business-related travel expenses are reimbursed, including mileage).
  • Ability to travel overnight as required.
