This role will lead the charge to develop messaging and content that speaks to target audiences and inspires them to act. Based on marketing strategies and objectives, this role will have the opportunity to write, edit and proofread a wide variety of written content, communications, and publications for B2B customer experience audiences. This role is responsible for thoroughly learning about subject matter, understanding its context and implications, and distilling those learnings into succinct and compelling content. This person will engage in concepting and content mapping, writing for product launches, demand generation campaigns, emails, landing pages, social media posts, lead magnets and other deliverables.

First Month: Acquaint yourself with our brand voice and tone, read existing content, and learn our project management methodology. Hit the ground running by meeting with subject matter experts to develop assigned thought leadership blog content, interviewing them, writing, and posting content.

First Three Months: Begin contributing to larger scale revenue generation activity that develops leads and converts audiences to action. Fully own your workload, working with your manager to ensure that you are learning the details of our value proposition, products, and offerings.

First Six Months: Own content aligned to specific marketing initiatives by industry, technology partner, or specific business unit. Contribute to long-form content initiatives like eBooks, whitepapers, and lead magnets. Develop all content related to assigned campaigns, including emails, landing pages, social posts, paid ads, promotional content, and more.

First Year: Work to expand the range of content you write, developing your own professional skills and pushing the boundaries of what you can do. Autonomously own content contribution, requiring minimal project oversight. Actively ideate with your manager around new and innovative ways to tell stories.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualizes and writes impeccable copy for a wide array of channels
  • Contributes to SEO strategy and uses search best practices to ensure content is optimized for search and drives inbound leads
  • Develops creative concepts for marketing initiatives and contributes to brainstorms with creative team
  • Interviews subject matter experts to generate thought leadership content
  • Collaborates with other creative and marketing professionals on diverse production needs
  • Grasp and understand big picture marketing initiatives, content strategy, brand guidance, and audience to develop and execute relevant, on-brand, optimized content
  • Autonomously manages workload to ensure on-time delivery and excellent quality

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English or communications – or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required
  • A portfolio of work that demonstrates short and long-form content creation, such as: emails, blogs, eBooks, whitepapers, case studies, video scripts, infographics, social media posts, landing pages, etc
  • 3-5 years of professional content writing experience
  • Prior professional experience writing about technology or customer experience AND/OR retail, healthcare, financial services, or public sector/government AND/OR Microsoft, Genesys, Cisco, AWS, or Pega Systems technology preferred
  • Basic understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar systems
  • Fluency with Wrike, our project management platform, or ability to quickly understand and utilize the platform
  • Proven track record of producing results-driven copy that is clear, strategic, consistent and compelling
  • A passion for researching unfamiliar topics, and the ability to source and integrate content to create a unified message and voice for a wide variety of deliverables deployed across multiple marketing channels
  • The confidence to effectively channel brand voices
  • Attention to detail, and excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other creatives and marketing professionals
  • An understanding of content trends, copywriting best practices, and effective communication and messaging
  • This role is remote, with the option to work in our Bloomington, MN office upon reopening
  • Employee may be asked to travel to business and customer locations, locally and/or nationally, such as client interviews, tradeshows, events, conferences, etc.
