The IT company Andersen invites an experienced System Engineer (DevOps) to join its team for working with our customer from the UK.

The customer is a company that offers data-driven solutions for people, risk and capital management. Leveraging the global vision and local expertise of colleagues across 140 countries and markets, it helps to sharpen the strategy, improve organizational resilience, motivate people and maximize performance.

The project is virtual-desktop based solution that we provide to clients who want to run our desktop software in something closer to a β€œsaas” mode. It’s currently hosted on Citrix but we are starting the project to re-platform it onto Azure AVD and in the process put in place automation, processes and systems allowing more effectively serve a lot more customers than we do currently.

Tech stack on the project: Pulumi, Azure AVD, CI/CD, Citrix Desktop, Azure DevOps, InTune, Nerdio, Puppet.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and executing the migration of the vPlace solution from Citrix to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
  • Developing and implementing automation processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Designing and establishing new systems and processes to support the increased customer base and enhance service delivery.
  • Providing technical support and guidance throughout the migration process and beyond.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation of the migration process, new systems, and automation workflows.

Requirements

  • Experience as a System Engineer (DevOps) + Azure for 3+ years.
  • Strong experience with Terraform.
  • Technical knowledge and practical experience with Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Proficiency in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools.
  • Understanding and experience with Azure DevOps for managing development workflows.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft InTune for device management and security.
  • Familiarity with Nerdio for Azure Virtual Desktop management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

  • Experience with Puppet for configuration management.
  • Familiarity with Pulumi.
  • Knowledge of C# (for using with Pulumi).
  • Familiarity with Citrix Desktop environments and solutions.
