Impact of a Communications Specialist
As a Communications Specialist at Platform.sh, you play a pivotal role in shaping how we tell our story, internally and externally. Whether crafting a press release, coordinating a social media campaign, or rolling out internal messaging, you help bring clarity, energy, and connection to every touchpoint.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Digital Communication, you work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product Marketing, Advocacy, Events, People, and external partners to deliver high-impact communications. Your work supports key company initiatives and helps drive awareness, alignment, and engagement across all audiences.
You are a strong writer, creative thinker, and collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, fully remote environment. You bring structure to ambiguity, using your storytelling and analytical skills to break down complex topics and deliver messages that resonate.
What to expect
Integrated Communication: Execute internal and external communication plans that align with business goals and elevate our company narrative.
Content Creation: Write and edit compelling content for various mediums, including press releases, blog posts, social media, web pages, customer messages, and internal updates.
Multimedia Communications: Contribute to the development of written, video, and audio content that engages diverse audiences.
Internal Communications:Drive regular communications to team members across Platform.sh, ensuring consistent and transparent updates across the organization.
Performance Tracking:Monitor and report on key communication metrics to evaluate effectiveness and inform future strategy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and global team members to gather insights, align messaging, and ensure consistency.
Creative Execution:Start from scratch when needed—turning limited inputs into well-crafted communications that are on-brand, on-message, and impactful.
What you bring
Work Ethic & Experience: Highly accountable with a proactive mindset; comfortable building materials from scratch and managing multiple projects on tight deadlines. Minimum 1 year of experience in communications, content development, or related fields.
Communication: Exceptional English writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to make technical concepts engaging and accessible. French or German language skills are a strong bonus.
Collaboration: Adept at working across time zones and reaching out to stakeholders. Thrive in a high-collaboration, fully remote environment where Slack is the primary mode of communication.
Analytical Thinking: Relentless curiosity about how our work is perceived across different audiences. Use data and feedback to improve and adapt communications. Skilled at simplifying complex topics into digestible content.
Tech Fluency: Experience with content management systems, social media tools, analytics platforms (e.g., Canva, Figma, Adobe CC, Brandwatch, Hootsuite, LinkedIn, Reddit, etc.).
Adaptability & Initiative: Comfortable navigating ambiguity, initiating improvements, and iterating based on feedback. Ability to balance creativity with strategic alignment.
