Why this role is exciting

We seek highly motivated Engineering Managers who can lead a team to drive large, strategic, and complex projects. This position requires a high level of leadership, empathy, mentoring other engineers, and helping to design and architect scalable solutions.

In this role, you will face many challenges—from developing individual design system components to leading web accessibility efforts across AuditBoard. Our ideal candidate is someone who loves to collaborate with others but can also work independently to take an idea from concept to implementation.

We’re a hardworking, energetic team that is passionate about our customers and believes that to be successful we should never stop learning: learning about our customers, our product, and how to build better software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering for AuditBoard’s Design Systems and Accessibility team

  • Mentor and inspire a diverse team of engineers with a high degree of empathy and emotional intelligence

  • Manage and develop the team through hiring, retaining, mentoring, and continually building the team and individuals’ capabilities

  • Develop and nurture relationships with Product Management, QA, Delivery, Design, Customer Support, GTM, and product development teams to develop the best-in-class experience for our users

  • Own build and delivery of Luna, AuditBoard’s design system

  • Champion web accessibility efforts across all AuditBoard teams

  • Lead efforts to improve web accessibility of core AuditBoard components

  • Improve all aspects of the product—both technical and processes—and deliver outstanding results for our customers

  • Work cross-functionally with other engineering teams and product lines to support front-end products

  • Work closely with Product Management to set goals and objectives to define and execute the roadmap

  • Iterate and improve on agile best practices to deliver clarity and transparency within your team and across the organization

Attributes for a successful candidate

  • 5+ years of experience developing modern tech stacks

  • 2+ years managing an engineering team

  • Experience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, best practices, and techniques

  • Experience managing or building a design system

  • Modern JS Framework Experience: Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (Ember is preferred, but Vue, React, Angular, etc. are valuable for front-end collaboration).

Preferred

  • Experience in a highly regulated, ARC (Audit, Risk, and Compliance) environment.

  • Managed remote or distributed teams.

  • Experience in an agile development environment and with modern project management tools.

Our Company Values

  • Customer obsession: Apply relentless focus on listening to and understanding customers as the core of everything we do

  • Win, together: Drive to be the best while supporting each other’s success

  • Gritty resilience: Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, balancing immediate priorities with big-picture strategic goals

  • Personal improvement: Stay eager to share insights, seek feedback, and continuously learn

  • Constant innovation: Challenge the status quo and drive improvements

  • Remote and hybrid work options, plus lunch in the Cerritos office

  • Comprehensive employee health coverage (all locations)

  • 401K with match (US) or pension with match (UK)

  • Competitive compensation & bonus program

  • Flexible Vacation (US exempt & CA) or 25 days (UK)

  • Time off for your birthday & volunteering

  • Employee resource groups

  • Opportunities for team and company-wide get-togethers!
