Who we are
At Fortis Games we aspire to make great games that bring people together while redefining how game companies work. We believe in building a sense of belonging through our games, their communities, and how we operate and treat each other. Through our game communities, we will create powerful connections and lasting memories. We will foster a culture of diversity, equity and belonging where together our diverse skills, experiences and backgrounds impact the games we make.
We are an early but mighty organization with a leadership team of game industry veterans. There are many opportunities for you to have a big impact on the products we’ll be making as well as the overall direction of the company. If you’re passionate about tackling difficult problems with direct and thoughtful communication and team first mentality, we may be the right place for you.

As a Lead Content Designer at Fortis Games, you will guide our content team in building engaging levels for our upcoming game. You will oversee a small team of designers (3–5), ensuring the creation of fun, balanced, and player-focused content. This role combines leadership, design expertise, and strong collaboration across disciplines, making it a key position in shaping the player experience.

What you’ll achieve

  • Manage and mentor a team of 3–5 content designers, providing feedback, guidance, and growth opportunities.

  • Design, prototype, and implement compelling levels and events using internal Unity-based tools and data-driven workflows.

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, artists, and engineers to align content with gameplay goals and player motivations.

  • Balance creativity with analytics by interpreting feedback and metrics to refine level design.

  • Coordinate workflows using Google Sheets and other abstract tools to organize content pipelines, progression systems, and production schedules.

  • Foster alignment between content design and our company values, ensuring accessibility, inclusivity, and long-term player engagement.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Experience leading teams or mentoring designers in a game development environment.

  • Proficiency with level design tools, ideally Unity-based editors, and comfort working with spreadsheets or abstract data structures.

  • Ability to translate player needs into engaging content that balances challenge, fun, and accessibility.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and present ideas clearly.

  • Fluency in iterative design: ability to brainstorm, test, and refine content rapidly.

  • Enthusiasm for casual, simulation, or mobile games and an understanding of their audiences.

Why join us
There are many reasons to join us, but here are a few:

  • We strongly believe we are changing how games studios operate and at the core of what we do is making great games that create a connected community
  • We’re not just about making Games Where You Belong. We’re also about building communities where our people belong. That’s why Fortis is a thriving environment that celebrates diversity, embraces inclusivity, and fosters growth.
  • Build and grow with a seasoned team of accomplished talent who have left an impactful mark in their disciplines, both in and out of gaming
