This isolation is enforced at the virtual switch or hypervisor and further controlled by security groups and network ACLs. Describe a time you had to improve the performance or reliability of a network service. What approach did you take? In a previous role, I noticed our load balancer had high latency under peak traffic. I profiled the data plane and identified unnecessary packet copying. I optimized memory usage and used DPDK to bypass the kernel, reducing latency by 40%, and implemented automated load testing to ensure stability. DPDK provides a fast packet processing framework with high performance and lower latency, but it requires more manual packet handling and is less flexible in terms of protocol support.
