Describe your process for designing and validating a document mapping between an ERP system and an EDI format.

I would identify the source and target data models, establish mandatory and optional field rules, and create a mapping specification with validation and error-handling scenarios. I would test representative documents, including edge cases, with the customer and trading partner before production deployment.

How would you troubleshoot a failed AS2, OFTP2, or PEPPOL document exchange?

I would also build regression tests so mandate changes can be implemented and verified without disrupting existing integrations.

How do you communicate technical integration risks to non-technical customers and suppliers?

I would set expectations early through a delivery plan, milestones, responsibilities, risks, and regular status updates. When an issue arises, I would explain its impact in business terms, present practical options, and ensure technical decisions and next steps are documented for all parties.
