How would you support SOC 2 or ISO 27001 readiness as an SRE? I would work with security and compliance stakeholders to map technical controls to infrastructure practices, including access management, change management, audit logs, vulnerability remediation, backup validation, and incident-response evidence. Automation is important for collecting reliable evidence and preventing configuration drift. I would also ensure that control ownership, review cadence, and exceptions are clearly documented. How do you balance reliability, security, and delivery speed when engineering teams have competing priorities? I use risk-based prioritization and make trade-offs visible through service objectives, incident data, security severity, and delivery impact. Rather than relying on manual gates, I prefer paved-road tooling that makes secure and reliable practices the easiest path for developers. For urgent risks, I communicate the impact clearly, align owners on a mitigation plan, and track follow-up work to completion. This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, reliability, and security. You’ll work across our platform to improve how we operate production systems, strengthen our security practices, and give engineers the tooling and infrastructure they need to ship quickly and confidently. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working across boundaries, takes ownership, and brings a pragmatic approach to solving problems.
