I would analyze alert outcomes, quality-review findings, missed typologies, investigator feedback, and data coverage to define the gap and its risk impact. I would then recommend a practical control change, such as rule tuning, enhanced data enrichment, a revised procedure, or targeted training, and monitor results after implementation. How do you stay current with cryptocurrency financial-crime risks and regulations? I follow regulatory publications, enforcement actions, industry intelligence, and updates from blockchain analytics providers. I also review emerging typologies with peers, participate in relevant training, and translate material developments into investigation guidance or monitoring improvements when appropriate. We’re a team of risk-minded problem solvers who advise the business on the company’s regulatory obligations and enterprise risk. ### About the Opportunity The successful candidate will have prior transaction monitoring/investigations experience in the financial services, FinTech or cryptocurrency industries. You will help support the Special Investigations team, focusing on analyzing blockchain data to identify potential illicit activities, money laundering and terrorist financing, involving cryptocurrencies. The job requires a mix of technical expertise, investigative skills, and knowledge of crypto markets and blockchain technology. ### What You’ll Be Doing * Conduct in-depth investigations of complex AML cases, ensuring thorough analysis and adherence to regulatory requirements, through investigation of blockchain transactions to track and identify suspicious or illicit activities such as money laundering, and other criminal activities. * Analyze data to identify process gaps and opportunities, and partner with Compliance, Training and other FIU stakeholders to recommend mitigating activities for risk and close process gaps. * Evaluate AML transaction monitoring and suspicious activity reporting requirements for all countries where applicable. * Collaborate with external partners, including financial institutions, government agencies, and blockchain companies, to share intelligence and insights. Work closely with law enforcement agencies, regulators, and legal teams to provide insights and evidence for criminal investigations. * Stay abreast of changes to the cryptocurrency industry, financial crime trends, and regulatory requirements to assess impact to Transaction Monitoring. * Support team training and knowledge sharing, fostering a collaborative environment focused on ongoing learning and professional growth. ### What We Look For In You * 3-5 years of direct and strong technical experience in BSA/AML investigations and operations in relevant financial crimes, transaction monitoring and investigation roles. * Demonstrated knowledge of BSA/AML, KYC regulations, risks and controls implementation globally. * Strong understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency protocols, and decentralized networks. * Experience performing in a fast-paced environment and proven ability to meet deadlines. * Self-motivated, critical thinker and adept at working independently and in a dispersed team environment covering multiple and varied tasks. * Intuitive, highly ethical, and comfortable to question and challenge the status quo. * Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
