I start with the user journey and focus on clarity, responsiveness, accessibility, and effective handling of loading, empty, and error states. When constraints exist, I prioritize the highest-impact moments and iterate using product feedback and usage data. In a mature feature area, I first identify the source of friction through incidents, developer feedback, and code analysis. I then make incremental improvements such as extracting shared components, strengthening types and tests, simplifying service boundaries, or improving monitoring while continuing feature delivery.
