I would then compare recent relevant sales and determine whether the lot can be presented clearly enough to support a fair and compelling auction. How do you produce a reliable value estimate for a rare Tintin or Dutch comic? I combine bibliographic knowledge with condition assessment, scarcity, edition-specific characteristics, and comparable recent market results. I document the factors behind the estimate and adjust for features such as signatures, inserts, restoration, and provenance. Describe how you would reject a seller's submission without harming the relationship. I would give a prompt, respectful explanation tied to transparent acceptance criteria, such as condition, insufficient market demand, or listing quality. Where possible, I would suggest practical improvements or recommend a more suitable future submission so the seller feels supported rather than dismissed. How would you improve bidder engagement for a weekly comics auction? I would build a coherent selection around recognizable themes, ensure accurate titles and detailed descriptions, and prioritize strong images that show condition and distinguishing features. I would also coordinate with Marketing on notable lots, collector stories, and timely campaigns aimed at relevant audiences. How do you balance speed and accuracy when managing a high volume of submitted lots? I use a consistent review framework and prioritize submissions according to value, urgency, and completeness of information. For complex items, I would perform deeper research or seek corroborating evidence, while using templates and clear standards to process straightforward lots efficiently.
