Escalations should be timely, evidence-based, and aligned with internal procedures. How do you ensure that a compliance file is ready for audit or regulatory review? I ensure the file contains current supporting documents, screening evidence, risk assessments, review notes, approval records, and a clear explanation of decisions and escalations. I also check that information is internally consistent, outstanding issues are tracked to resolution, and the audit trail shows why the final risk outcome was reached. Describe how you would assess customer risk for a corporate entity. I would evaluate jurisdiction, legal form, ownership and control complexity, industry and business model, expected account activity, source-of-funds information where applicable, customer relationships, screening outcomes, and any adverse information. I would weigh these factors under the firm’s risk methodology and record both the evidence and the rationale for the assigned risk level. How would you manage a high volume of periodic and trigger reviews without compromising quality? I would prioritize cases by risk, regulatory deadlines, and potential customer impact, while using case-management workflows to track status and dependencies. I would apply consistent checklists, conduct focused quality checks, communicate early when information is missing, and escalate blockers promptly so that complex cases receive appropriate attention.
