I would use Spark when data volume, memory requirements, or repeated transformations exceed what can be processed reliably on a single machine. I would also consider the organization’s existing infrastructure, optimize partitioning and joins, and keep the workflow reproducible while using local tools for smaller exploratory tasks. How do you communicate a statistically sound result to nontechnical product stakeholders? I frame the result around the decision it supports, use a clear visualization, and explain practical impact before technical detail. I state assumptions, uncertainty, sample limitations, and recommended next steps so stakeholders can act without overstating confidence. How would you evaluate whether a new product feature improves clinician engagement? I would define a primary engagement metric and guardrail metrics, identify the eligible population, and recommend a randomized experiment where feasible. I would analyze effect size and uncertainty, check segment-level outcomes and data-quality issues, then share a decision-focused readout with recommendations for rollout or iteration. Actively participate in execution and some planning of organizational data team strategy. * Collaborate with a team of product managers, analysts, and other developers to define and lead data projects from data ingestion to analysis to recommendations. ### About you * At least 4 years of professional experience as a data analyst or a data scientist. * Advanced knowledge of statistical concepts, especially exploratory data analysis techniques, and probability theory. Some exposure to machine learning methods (regressors, classifiers, etc.). * Advanced SQL skills to create and evaluate complex statements involving numerous tables and data relationships. * Proficient in Python and well versed in object-oriented programming concepts as it relates to data and Python. * Proficient in distributed data processing concepts and execution (e.g., working with column stores, leveraging spark, etc.) * Excellent visualization and storytelling skills to explain your results and solutions to the stakeholders, clearly and compellingly. * Fast learner; curiosity about and passion for data ### Compensation The anticipated total compensation for this role is $130,00 – $190,000, depending on factors such as experience, skills, location, and internal equity.
