I would segment results by product, customer cohort, channel, and geography to locate the source of the change. How do you communicate a complex financial analysis to non-finance leaders? I start with the business decision and the recommended action rather than the mechanics of the model. I use a concise narrative, a small set of decision-relevant metrics, and clearly labeled assumptions, risks, and tradeoffs. I keep detailed calculations available for review while making the executive discussion focused on choices and outcomes. How have you used automation or AI tools in financial planning work? I use automation to standardize data preparation, recurring reporting, variance explanations, and scenario updates, while maintaining appropriate controls and review. AI tools can accelerate research, draft narratives, surface anomalies, and help structure analyses, but I validate outputs against source data and apply financial judgment before using them in decisions. The goal is to reduce manual work and improve the speed and consistency of insights. This highly visible role will serve as a strategic thought partner to Product leadership, using financial analysis, business insights, and structured problem-solving to influence both near-term priorities and long-term strategy. The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of SaaS business models and growth drivers. They will translate complex data into clear insights, identify opportunities to improve business performance, and help leaders evaluate investments and strategic tradeoffs. Success in this role requires a self-starter who is comfortable navigating ambiguity, building structure where it does not yet exist, and collaborating across Product, Finance, Data Science, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams.
