If priorities conflict, I would use customer impact, launch risk, and agreed business objectives to drive escalation and trade-off decisions. What metrics would you use to assess the health of an advertiser product-catalog system? I would track catalog ingestion success rate, processing latency, data freshness, API availability and latency, error rates, and SLA attainment. For customer outcomes, I would measure onboarding completion, time to first usable catalog, catalog quality, and support volume. I would pair those metrics with operational alerts and clear ownership for remediation. How do you communicate complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders? I frame the decision around customer impact, business goals, risks, cost, and delivery timing before describing technical detail. I present a small set of viable options with a recommendation and explicitly state what we gain or defer with each choice. To achieve this vision, we need a highly scalable catalog infrastructure and intuitive user experience to onboard thousands of advertisers and ingest millions of products into our systems. As the Engineering Manager for the Product Catalogs team at Reddit, you will lead the full stack team responsible for our entire advertiser-facing experience. You will build UIs, APIs, and backend systems that manage advertiser’s products. The team also works closely with the knowledge graph teams to power organic shopping. This role combines technical expertise, leadership abilities, and drive to understand and deliver on customer needs.
