I define the system scope, data flows, assets, and applicable regulatory obligations before evaluating threats, vulnerabilities, and existing controls. I assess likelihood and impact, document gaps with clear risk statements, and recommend proportionate remediation actions with accountable owners and deadlines. I then review residual risk and ensure that decisions and exceptions are documented for auditability. How would you balance compliance requirements with engineering velocity in a fast-moving AI company? I would focus on embedding requirements into existing engineering workflows rather than creating manual approval bottlenecks. Reusable secure patterns, automated checks, concise guidance, and risk-based prioritization allow teams to move quickly while maintaining control coverage.
