As the Manager of Internal Communications, you will join a small but mighty team reporting to the Senior Director of Internal Communications. You will partner with teams across Upwork to create and execute strategic communications plans to support the vision, mission and culture of the business. You are detail oriented and will build new internal communications processes and play a big role contributing to the overall internal communications strategy. You’re excited for a challenge, calm under times of uncertainty and are creative bringing new ideas to the table.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with various internal partners to strategically advise and execute internal communications plans
  • Write and edit communications for email, Slack and other platforms
  • Support planning, logistics and create presentation content for internal events
  • Be a storyteller and share compelling team and business stories to help inspire and motivate team members
  • Support crisis communications response
  • Create communications processes and contribute to the internal communications playbook
  • Partner with and act as a backup for the Senior Director of Internal Communications
  • Be an energetic team player, creative and proactively jump in on other opportunities as they arise

What it takes to catch our eye:

  • Proven experience in communications, with some of that dedicated to internal communications
  • Strong writing skills
  • Experience building and executing strategic communications plans
  • A calm and thoughtful communicator with experience working with senior executives
  • Experience with Slack and leading internal events
  • Organized, detail oriented and able to balance multiple projects at one time
