Manager – IBMi

Manage the efforts of a team of IBMi system administrators. Coordinate with Senior Management to develop and implement business plans, policies and procedures. Collaborate with other departments to prioritize projects and company goals. Evaluate results within department to determine if organizational objectives are being met. Analyze and resolve IBMi system issues and requests.

The preferred location for this position is the Denver/Boulder, CO area. However, remote work is possible and candidates located throughout the United States are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Architect, install, monitor, and maintain systems infrastructure to support IBMi systems.
• Identify, research and understand emerging technologies, and assess the potential risks and benefits. Make recommendations on organizational implications of major trends.
• Foster team cooperation and acknowledge team accomplishments. Participate in and support team- oriented approaches to problem solving, system development and operations.
• Follow, support and promote ongoing improvement of project methodologies, change management, security and other Denovo policies.
• Forecast staffing needs and work with management and Human Resources to recruit and retain talent.
• Provide regular performance feedback to team members.
• Develop subordinates’ skills and encourage growth opportunities that align with Denovo goals and objectives.
• Share 24×7 rotational responsibilities for on-call support.
• Ensure timely and quality completion of tickets and projects.
• Troubleshoot issues related to IBMi system environments.
• May serve as pre-sales support as needed.
• Escalation support for IBMi system administrators both tier 1 and tier 2.

The estimated base salary range for this position: $100,000 – $125,000. The actual salary range is based on fair market value based on your geographical location, skills, and role requirements, and responsibilities. This position also offers a variable bonus based upon company and individual performance and employee stock options. This posted compensation is a good faith and reasonable estimate. • Four-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of systems administration/architect for IBMi. Experience in a datacenter environment is strongly preferred.
• At least 4+ years of management or leadership experience.
• Professional certification is preferred.
• Understanding of ITIL best practices.
• Ability to understand, interpret, and glean results from complex technical relationships.
• Ability to complete projects/tasks on-time, on/under budget track record is preferred.
• Advanced troubleshooting and repair skills of IBMi and IBM Power systems.
• Understanding of software configurations, compatibilities, and licensing.
• Knowledge of related industry best practices.
• Strategic, tactical, operational and financial understanding of an IT environment.
• Ability to work on-call rotations and off hour assignments as needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
