Principal Salesforce Engineer

Apptio is a leading provider of cloud-based IT financial management software, helping CIOs and CFOs connect technology investments to business outcomes.  We are adding a Sr. Salesforce Engineer to our growing team in the US and want someone on the EastCoast we have an office in Morrisville NC but we can have someone work remote if they don’t live close to our office.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for application design and all program development within Salesforce.com and integration to other MA Business Applications.
• Design, develop, test, document, and deploy high-quality business solutions on the Salesforce.com platform based on industry best practices as well as business needs.
• Documenting business and technical requirements and resulting unit test scripts.
• Working with the Enterprise Applications and IT teams to conduct change management activities necessary for successful system implementation.
• Participating and possibly coordinating in the execution of functional unit testing, user role testing, data analysis, and integration testing.
• Leading teams in the analysis of complex problems, and the design and implementation of related solutions.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, engineering, business or a related technical or business field.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce systems architecture and ability to design scalable performance-driven solutions
• 10+ years of solid development implementation and support experience in enterprise-level Salesforce.com CRM/Force.com projects using agile software development methodologies throughout the whole life cycle with repeated and demonstrable success.
• Expert level understanding of the Salesforce.com product suite, including Sales, Service, CPQ, Integration, Analytics, Community, as well as the Force.com Platform
• 10+ years of extensive configuration/declarative design experience with Salesforce.com administration, including territory hierarchy, role hierarchy, flows, process builders, workflows, approval process, validation rules, and security controls
• 8 to 10 years of development and support experience with customizing the Salesforce.com platform using Apex, Visualforce, Creating Lightning Components, SOQL, SOSL.
• 8+ years of experience with Salesforce.com code/data management tools like Force.com IDE, Data Loader, Workbench, GitHub, Bitbucket and Developer Console
• 8+ years of implementation experience documenting business processes and wireframing system designs using process flow diagram tools, sequence diagrams, etc. as well as making recommendations for future-state improved processes and system designs
• 8+ years of development and support experience integrating Salesforce.com with other systems (SAP, Workday, Service Now and cloud/on-prem JIRA), including REST/SOAP API calls and using 3^rd party ETL tools, such as Mulesoft, Informatica, etc
• Familiarity with platform authentication patterns (SAML, SSO, Oauth)
• 10+ years of development and support experience with single-org deployments and multi-org consolidations
• Be knowledgeable of tech debt that is accrued in Salesforce and ways to tackle it.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to learn quickly to leverage new concepts, technologies, and solutions
