Yelp is the most trusted and convenient place for consumers to find and connect with great local businesses. We’re looking for an experienced product marketing leader to help define the strategy that drives growth in consumer engagement, particularly in the Home and Local Services space. This is a great opportunity to work on a widely loved consumer product and build a small, high-performing team over time.

This is a full-time role based in the United States.

Where you come in:

  • This is a leadership role and it will be important to form a strong, collaborative partnership with the Product, Design, and Business Operations teams with the opportunity to begin building your own team later in 2021.
  • You will demonstrate a strategic approach to achieving key business objectives including the ability to identify long-term opportunities and challenges while shepherding shorter-term projects.
  • You will partner closely with research and strategy teams to develop a deep understanding of our product, competition and market as well as the various segments of our users and how to best communicate with them.
  • You will define compelling customer value propositions and develop comprehensive go-to-market strategies that reinforce our brand positioning and drive growth.
  • You will work in close partnership with Brand, Channel Marketing, Content Marketing, and Community teams to develop content and programs that educate and inspire consumers to use Yelp in new ways.
  • You need to be both quantitative and qualitative. You should be able to quickly assess and understand complex systems, excel in data-informed decision-making, and be comfortable problem-solving with and without perfect metrics.
  • This is a brand new role, so the ideal candidate will be comfortable working in ambiguity and will be a highly motivated self-starter with a track-record of “figuring it out.”

What it takes to succeed:

  • 10+ years in Product Marketing—preferably with a consumer brand
  • 5+ years building and leading teams
  • Data proficiency with strong analytical skills— including market/segment sizing, forecasting, and working with analytics to understand the efficacy of campaigns
  • You think holistically about the user experience even if a particular project is asking for a change on one particular part or moment
  • Someone self-directed, with the ability to translate vague requirements into prioritized problems to solve
  • You are a confident team player who earns the trust of our partners in Product, Marketing, and our Community team
  • Ability to succeed in a player-coach role
  • Startup experience a plus
