ModSquad is seeking a Marketing Director, Content to join our team.  This is, and will remain, a remote working position.  We are seeking a candidate that will fill a hybrid role of a writer and content leader to help create compelling, on-brand content for ModSquad.  This person will be tasked with creating engaging pieces that can be shared on various platforms, generating brand awareness, creating new leads and driving traffic to the website.


  • Storytelling and Writing
  • Ability to write different types of content
  • Ability to tell a compelling story/drive the narrative
  • Deliver writing that matches the ModSquad voice
  • Content Management
  • Process design, implementation and oversight
  • Communicate with internal team, other departments and clients on content needs
  • Gather content requests from other departments
  • Gather requirements, write briefs, etc
  • Ability to leverage SEO tactics in content creation
  • Function as an executive liaison/partner for key projects
  • Project management
  • Track, manage, and communicate project progress
  • Resource management
  • Manage team
  • Find and manage freelancers
  • Quality control
  • Proof all content for grammar, style, voice, tone, etc
  • Ensure links go to intended destinations and have UTM tags, as relevant
  • Help develop and document standards for the above
  • Content Strategy
  • Track, analyze, test content effectiveness
  • Plan and execute ways to maximize content, leverage content pieces in multiple ways
  • Help with prioritization
  • Help develop content roadmap
  • Help develop new content ideas
  • Tools 
  • Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Pardot, Salesforce
  • Asana
  • WordPress
  • Reports to CMO


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, journalism, marketing, or related area of expertise
  • 7-10+ years of experience in content marketing or a related field; B2B experience preferred
  • Superb writing and editing skills to create content pieces that drive demand
  • Analytical rigor, taking a data-driven approach to the work
  • Demonstrated ability to align with a brand’s written voice and tone
  • Creative ideas and superb communication skills
  • Passion for digital marketing, trends, and best practices
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Experience in one of our service areas (customer support, content moderation, community management, social media) a strong plus

Pay is commensurate with experience.
