Our story began when our founding team launched a mobile cryptocurrency exchange product in late 2017 called Coinance. After three months of operations and acquiring over 10,000 users, Coinance was pulled from the AppStore for not properly identifying its users in compliance with KYC (know your customer) regulations. During the search for a solution, the founders became convinced that there was a large opportunity to build an identity verification tool that was easy for engineering teams to integrate and empowered end-users with privacy and security.

Fast-forward two years and the team has raised $8m in venture financing with several hundred customers building with our identity system. In order to prepare the growth and marketing organization for our next phase of growth (after growing 14x in the last year), we realized it was time to bring in a great leader. Currently, the growth department consists of several pillars with FTEs, agencies, and budget to support each. These pillars include content creation, public relations, performance marketing, referrals, and alliances.

We are Passbase, and our goal is to empower the world with a digital identity system that puts you, the individual, first. We give developers a set of tools to integrate into their facial recognition, liveness detection, ID authenticity checks, and ID information extraction, while also baking in privacy protections that allow individual users to control their own identity data – creating a more privacy-centric future.

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for an experienced Head/Vice President (VP) of Growth (title dependent on experience) to direct and oversee our Marketing department. You will design, implement and monitor effective marketing strategies that align with our business goals. You will have has a solid B2B SaaS Marketing background and work experience managing a variety of promotional projects end-to-end, including paid advertising campaigns and digital marketing techniques. Our Head/VP of Growth will oversee and build our Marketing team and work closely with our PR and performance marketing agency. To be successful in this role, you should be creative, highly professional, and detail-oriented.

You will play a significant role in shaping the company’s strategic planning and should feel comfortable presenting and discussing ideas with the other members of the Leadership team.

Ultimately, the Head/VP of Growth will create, lead, and manage campaigns, report on Marketing’s activities, and ensure that the Marketing department’s activities contribute to our company’s long-term success.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and execute a cohesive marketing strategy to increase brand awareness and generate sales-qualified leads based on quarterly targets
  • Build and manage multiple critical growth pillars including PR, SEO, SEM, Sponsored Channels, Offline, Content, Brand, Channel Partners, Social Media Channels, Product Marketing, Satellite Projects
  • Work directly with founders and company leadership to develop and oversee growth marketing OKRs and build a highly functioning growth team
  • Manage multiple direct reports from the current growth team along with external stakeholders and vendors such as performance agencies, design, and other freelancers
  • Forecast budget and hiring needs for the Marketing department
  • Establish clear objectives and direct performance measurement, reporting, and analysis with direct reports as well as with agency partners
  • Conduct market analysis to identify challenges and opportunities for growth

What background you should have:

  • 3-6 years of marketing/growth experience with 2 + years of that experience being in a startup environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing / related field or equivalent work experience
  • Proven work experience and strong track record of delivering results as a VP of Marketing/Growth, Marketing/Growth Director, or another senior role with a B2B SaaS product
  • Has built and coordinated a team of growth and marketing experts
  • Demonstrable experience designing and implementing successful marketing campaigns. Solid knowledge of SEO, web analytics, digital advertising, email marketing, and content creation
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills with the ability to explain and translate complex and often nuanced concepts into simple and intuitive communications
  • Creative, strategic, and outside-the-box thinking

Tools/skills you should have

  • Hands-on experience working with and implementing CRM and other marketing automation tools (i.e. Hubspot, Segment, Unbounce, Autopilot, Drift, Intercom, AppCues, aHrefs)
  • Experience working with marketing platforms such (e.g. Social Channels, Google Ad Words, Linkedin, Bing, Google Display Network, Facebook Ads)
  • Experience analyzing raw data and drawing insights/conclusions (via Excel, Looker, SQL, etc.)
