The Services team works to empower learners, partners, and enterprise customers to achieve their goals on Coursera. The team is made up of five sub-teams: Scaled Services, Partner Services, Enterprise Services, Program Management, and Teaching & Learning. We help learners succeed by implementing innovative systems and processes that solve problems. We also develop best practices and technical expertise to enable our partners to create high quality content. As strong advocates for the Coursera community, we work to align cross-functional teams and build scalable solutions to continuously improve the Coursera experience.
The Teaching and Learning team at Coursera is a group of learning design researchers and experts. Our team provides best practices, training, consulting, and support in content development and creating transformational learning experiences. We aim to understand the factors that make online content successful for learners, and optimize for a range of metrics — including learner satisfaction, enrollment, progression, completion, and learning outcomes — and ultimately distill these into actionable insights to guide content design and production. We continuously drive and improve online pedagogy through research, feedback, and on-platform experimentation.
The Learning Design Consultant is a full-time position focused on guiding instructional design for Coursera’s short-form content, primarily Guided Projects . The role mission is to maximize the learning experience and learning outcomes. Guided Projects enable learning of knowledge and skills through an engaging, browser-based experience that allows hands-on practice alongside videos that provide step-by-step guidance from subject matter experts. Other short-form content is represented in our traditional online course format.
We’re seeking a Learning Design Consultant who can leverage learning science-based best practices and data to inform the creation and assessment of short-form content and learning experiences.
