The Head of Community

What if you were in charge of a consumer finance newsletter with almost 6 million subscribers, delivered to their inbox at least once a week? What would you write about? What events or activities would your subscribers be interested in?

TrueAccord is reaching millions of consumers each month through our B2B website and B2C offering. Consumers now come to us for support and advice that extend beyond the individual balances they are managing on our platform. We are looking for a Head of Community to work with our user research and product teams to identify and service consumer needs through individual and group activities, reward programs, and other models of engagement and activation. You will help improve consumers’ long term financial resilience while improving TrueAccord’s brand perception and ability to help consumers get out and stay out of debt. You’ll have the freedom to research, develop and run community engagement programs that support consumers’ goals and reward their progress. You’ll have the opportunity to grow a vast membership and loyalty program with a meaningful impact on consumers’ lives and the company’s financial performance.

What we are looking for:

Mission orientation: You will serve as the voice of the company for millions of consumers. Your dedication to our mission to change the debt collection space, your view of consumers as empowered users with their own agency, and of your role as an enabler rather than a judge or privileged observer are critical and non-negotiable.

Growth mentality: You’re looking to apply your hard earned lessons having grown other communities into the best version of everything you’ve experienced. You are not afraid to get your hands dirty. You’re comfortable with moving fast, making decisions with imperfect data, and learning on your own.

Story teller: Community engagement in the financial industry is a difficult task and we’re looking for someone who has a knack for telling powerful stories that can communicate our track-record and mission-driven values to consumers and their social circles.

Product sense: Our consumers use us to pay down debt, and they would like a deeper relationship with TrueAccord. We want you to have the ability to communicate product findings and ideas as well as test them with our consumers to drive community engagement, consumer success, and improved performance.

Other Qualifications:

  • Proven experience growing and supporting product-adjacent communities; experience in fintech a big plus, experience with struggling communities is also a big plus
  • Strong understanding of financial tools such as budgeting, planning, investment, credit scores, and so on
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to transform user feedback into meaningful stories
  • Strong project management and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and experience working with senior executives
