About the Role:

AngelList Venture is seeking an Investor Relations Lead to join our growing Investor (LP) Relations team. We are looking for a collaborative, curious leader who is customer service and systems oriented. You will partner cross-functionally to build and deliver a best-in-class investor servicing experience by designing an offering that educates and builds trust with our LP investor base.

We own the early stage venture market, having built a scalable, innovative platform that makes launching and managing funds a breeze for fund managers (GPs) and investors (LPs). As a result, AngelList Venture (and the investors we bring onto our platform) get unparalleled access to top-tier VC deal flow. You will directly contribute to our mission by growing the number of active LPs in our marketplace, leading to more world-changing startups getting funds.

In this role, you will be designing and delivering policies, workflows and rules to refine AngelList Venture’s offerings for LPs. In turn, you will develop a deep understanding of our investor journey through their investment lifecycle, and how each part of our business impacts their experience.

You will be a foundational member of the Investor Relations team—the policies and workflows you build will directly impact how we scale. You will:

  • Have high customer empathy—able to effectively understand the perspectives of multiple stakeholders and anticipate investors’ needs.
  • Have exceptional communication and relationship management skills. In particular, you can effectively understand the needs of an investor related to their onboarding and investment lifecycle while managing expectations transparently, thereby delivering a best in class investor servicing experience.
  • Own our top of funnel: respond to and qualify incoming inquiries from investors who are interested in AngelList Venture.
  • Demonstrate exceptional judgement in managing investor interactions, navigating ambiguity, and handling escalations.
  • Be systems oriented—identify and implement product and process improvements to scale impact.
  • Have high personal accountability and demand the same of others.
  • Work well in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Other characteristics of the ideal candidate:

  • 4-8 years of investor relations experience in a Financial Services (Venture Capital, Hedge Fund, or Private Equity background) or FinTech setting, with a passion for delivering an excellent investor experience.
  • You have previously worked in an early-stage or boutique company that has scaled, and know how to navigate successfully in a startup environment.
  • Superb interpersonal and communication skills: you must have the ability to command the trust of sophisticated investors.
  • An understanding of core financial concepts and venture finance.
  • Ability to challenge people’s perspectives and create a compelling story for customers to rally around.
  • A team player—everyone needs to pull for each other, challenge each other, share best practices, and take on team projects to make the entire organization better.
  • A strong sense of initiative, accountability, an outstanding work ethic, and the ability to work independently.
  • Intellectual curiosity, and an ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
