We partner with the world’s most loved brands to scale and optimize their direct-to-consumer (DTC) businesses through brand, UX/design, technology/development, CRM/email, and marketing strategy.

Barrel specializes in the Fashion & Apparel, CPG Food & Beverage, Beauty & Skincare and Home Goods verticals. We work with clients including L’Oreal Paris, Gap, Barry’s, ScottsMiracle-Gro & Hu.

The Brand team plays a critical role in how a brand presents itself to the world. Together, they are responsible for uncovering insights through customer interviews and market research to develop a cohesive strategy that will resonate with new and existing audiences. With a team of collaborative, empathetic thinkers, we believe that we have the power to inspire meaningful, lasting change.

The Director of Brand will lead this charge, defining and redefining process, inventing new services, all the while, mentoring and building a team to support this vision. The Brand team is part of the Creative Marketing Services group. You will report to our CXO, Lucas Ballasy


  • Contribute to the strategic vision for the Brand discipline and its role within Barrel and client work.
  • Work closely with the Business Development and Client Services teams to understand client needs and develop innovative tactics for bringing our client’s stories to life and growing their communities.
  • Lead the Brand team. You will be responsible for recruiting, coaching, and mentoring talent. You will be measured by your ability to develop future leaders, and increase the team’s impact.
  • Partner with other discipline leads to identify gaps and opportunities within our process. You turn ideas into action and experiment.
  • Interface with clients at all levels to understand their needs and propose new, innovative solutions to help them achieve their goals.
  • Oversee Brand team’s projects and work. Your goal is to create an inspiring, collaborative environment for your team to do their best work and drive results for our clients.


  • Experience activating a brand beyond the brand book into omni-channel marketing campaigns, including digital (email, web, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, etc), print, and OOH activations.
  • Culturally tuned-in, has their finger on the pulse of new and emerging trends across social media, pop culture, and the Direct-to-Consumer landscape.


  • 8+ years experience working with a diverse range of brands. Expertise in research, strategy, ideation, and execution of brand systems and campaigns. Agency experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of management experience.
  • Intimate knowledge and hands-on experience leading upfront quantitative and qualitative research to drive creative work.
  • Identify opportunity for business growth – not afraid to roll up your sleeves to bring those solutions to life.
  • Strong visual aesthetic. Skilled in key areas of brand development, such as brand strategy, positioning, architecture, messaging along with primary applications (web, social, packaging, print, etc).
