Databricks is hiring a Senior Manager US Payroll. You will support and report to the Sr. Director of Global Payroll. Payroll reports into our ControllerΒ  organization. You will play a key role in the successful implementation of Workday US payroll this year. The project kicked off in December and will go live on July 1st. In addition, you will have an essential role in building out our new shared service center in Costa Rica, developing processes to support how we will work, ensuring we have the correct governance structure, identifying areas of improvements and executing on those improvements, which requires building partnerships across key functional teams.

The impact you will have:

  • Own US payroll processing transitioning from ADP Workforce Now to Workday this year.
  • Ensure Service level agreements are met for payroll accuracy and timeliness, as well as case management Service level agreements for timely closure of tickets
  • Build a dynamic team focused on strength based leadership principles
  • Ensure compliance, SOX and business controls are met each pay period
  • Optimize processes in order to achieve scalability and alignment with Finance organizational goals
  • Managing our global vendors, ensuring SOW’s are followed, no scope creep and there is a regular cadence for service delivery reporting and issue resolution
  • Provide global reporting and analysis to the Finance Organization to support month end close
  • Participate in developing a clear RACI across the HR, Finance and Payroll organizations to ensure alignment and segregation of duties
  • Build strong partnerships with key partners such as HR Operations, Benefits, Legal, IT, and Finance

What we look for:

  • CPP designation preferred
  • 10+ years of payroll processing experience for a global workforce
  • 4+ years experience in a Managerial/Supervisory role
  • Strong Workday Payroll experience required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Adaptable to a fast changing work environment; able to deliver accurate and on-time payroll regardless of the circumstances
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from management to accomplish objectives and deadlines
  • Must be a subject matter expert using Microsoft Excel
