About Notarize

Helping thousands of people each day sign and notarize life's most important documents online.

As the Principal Product Manager of our Trust Platform, you’ll work with multiple teams across the organization to drive our company strategy in becoming the best on-demand platform for all kinds of trust services. Your focus will be to help our customers secure all their transactions, even those that do not require a notarization. You are also responsible for all the product experiences that agents use to perform their duty, whether that is to notarize a document, check an ID or provide other services on a transaction. And you will be leading our strategy for how we combat fraud by equipping our network of agents with the appropriate security/fraud prevention technologies. A big part of this role will focus on compliance, security, digital signatures, evidence, audit trail, etc. Therefore prior experience leading technical products will be critical.
In addition, you will lead strategic planning, vision definition, GTM strategy, stakeholder alignment, executive presentations and customer briefings as it pertains to your product area. You may also need to be an expert in specific customer segments such as enterprise, real estate or financial services. This role is an individual contributor role, reporting to the VP of Product.

What you’ll do as a Principal Product Manager

  • Independently lead customer solution conversations to help unlock activation and gather key product insights to improve your product area
  • Build a deep understanding of the intersection between our customers and our trusted agents to drive these insights back into our product strategy
  • Make critical product and business decisions in an area that is highly ambiguous and requires the synthesis of data, feedback and customer insights
  • Present product vision and future direction of your area to customers, executives and the Senior Leadership Team
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to review product strategy, build consensus and ensure alignment
  • Provide status updates, action plans and recommendations to senior leadership on an ongoing basis
  • Partner with our operations teams to streamline the onboarding of new notaries and agents to our platform
  • Partner with our strategy team to define new business opportunities and business models for agents to earn on our platform
  • Shape the GTM strategy for how we drive engagement and community within our network of trusted agents
  • Research and introduce new technologies that can be incorporated into our product (for example, technologies such as machine learning, computer vision, PKI, real-time analytics, etc.)
  • Define the work for our engineering team by writing functional specs, prioritizing roadmaps, troubleshooting customer issues and managing the day-to-day execution of several software development projects
  • Partner across Solutions, Customer Success, Sales and Engineering to advance the mission of our Trust Platform.

What we are looking for

  • 10+ years of experience in software development (ideally with a mix of SaaS, startup, B2B/B2C experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in technical product management
  • 3+ years of experience with design thinking product methodology
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and drive results
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence
  • Ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to broad audiences in an approachable way
  • A solid toolbox of product management skills
  • A passion for building great customer experiences
  • You thrive in ambiguity
  • You believe every problem has many solutions
  • You have a knack for navigating competing opinions, making everyone feel heard, and shifting perspectives when necessary
  • You’re naturally innovative. You’re dreaming of new solutions before their problems arise
  • A strong working knowledge of APIs and SDKs
  • You can lead engineering conversations on technical topics like, information architecture, object model and data flows
  • Experience working on platform products, marketplace, PKI or real-time analytics
  • Prior experience with documents or eSignature is recommended
  • A technical degree is a plus
