Let’s talk about Product Team ⭐️

You’ll join the Product Design team working closely with the hands that craft Stuart’s products. They’re a friendly bunch and are ready to take product quality to the next level through this important addition to the team. Product Design sits within our “Tech” department alongside Product, Engineering, and Data.

You will work closely with the Design and Engineering teams to streamline our Design System rollout and oversee future updates and improvements—keeping the end-user experience in mind while delivering a great experience to our internal teams. 🚀

The role will report directly to Chris. As Stuart grows the team grows which means there’s lots of room for real career development! 💫

This position can be based in our Barcelona office or remotely anywhere in Spain 🇪🇸

What will I be doing?

Build and maintain a design system that is loved by our Product Designers and Engineers
Strategically drive the direction of our Design System to address the needs as we continue to scale our products and services
Work collaboratively across teams and departments to gather needs and translate these into reusable styles, components and patterns
Craft components and patterns both in Figma and code using modern technologies
Define and champion the contribution model and oversee the process to ensure that our Design System is a living and breathing product
Pay extra attention to details like accessibility, interaction, localisation, and performance to ensure that all of our products adhere to a high level of quality
Build and maintain documentation which allows teams to easily self-serve
Continuously review and maintain a backlog of needs, prioritising work and delivering improvements on a cyclical basis
Mentor, coach, and educate the team on how best to adopt and contribute to our Design System

What do we need from you?

You’re a strong verbal and written communicator who can “speak” in design and engineering terms
You have strong organisational skills and are able to work across multiple projects
You’re comfortable managing various stakeholders and their expectations
You’re technically adept and able to work with designers and engineers to find optimal ways of working both in our design files and our codebases
You are well versed in either web or native technologies with an appetite to learn and grow (we currently use React, Flutter, and SwiftUI)
You have a keen eye for detail and quality and hold others accountable for maintaining that bar
