Nielsen is seeking an experienced patent attorney to join its Intellectual Property Team on a permanent basis. The Senior Intellectual Property Counsel will work alongside Nielsen’s engineers, data scientists, and other innovators to continue developing a world class patent portfolio to propel Nielsen’s business goals.
The Senior Intellectual Property Counsel will work alongside colleagues from the Intellectual Property Team to develop a patent portfolio to protect technologies related to: design and operation of audience measurement metering devices; approaches for media recognition and classification leveraging digital signal processing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence; approaches for scaling and deduplicating audience measurement estimates via fusion of multiple data sets leveraging a variety of data science methodologies; and approaches for assessing audience engagement and advertising impact.
This fully flexible role is fully remote/work from home, Mid-West & Eastern timezone preferred.

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be between 128,000 – 230,000, which would be adjusted based on each employee’s geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
