JACOBS is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting department. This position can work primarily remote but will need to be available for occasional travel to Northern Virginia.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and process T&E expenses within established guidelines
- Work one-on-one with travelers on entering expense reports
- Work with corporate on managing corporate credit cards
- Research and reference policies as needed to address questions
- Process expense reports in a timely manner
- Ensure accuracy of data entry; monitor AP for duplicate invoices
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
- Review invoices for proper authorization and approval prior to payment
- Match invoices to checks, process weekly check runs and obtain authorized signatures on checks accordingly
- Keep filing up to date; maintain AP documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
- Respond to inquiries on invoice payment from vendors; investigate issues and questions related to payment processing and any discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prevent late payments or any related fees to late payments
- Readily available for internal and external audits for various agencies
- Assist in month end closing
- Ability to effectively and efficiently operate in a dynamic and fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Must possess functional experience on the following modules of DELTEK Costpoint, Cognos, or reporting query tools
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Hereβs What Youβll Need:
- Associates Degree or 3 to 5 years of related accounting experience.
- Knowledge of processing expense reports in Concur.
- Proficient with personal computers and use of Microsoft Office Products, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis, and multi-tasking skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner

Typical salary range for this position is $65K to $80K and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
