Reporting to our General Counsel, Credit Sesame’s new Senior Corporate Counsel will manage contracts and agreements with various financial institutions as well as provide advice on financial laws, rules and regulations.   • provide timely, concise and business-focused legal advice on federal and state banking, credit-related, and other financial laws, rules and regulations, including FCRA, CROA, GLBA/UDAAP, and BSA/AML;
  • structure, draft, negotiate and review agreements with various financial institutions and partners;
  • partner with and support our marketing and product teams by advising on marketing collateral and product claims;
  • provide ideas, solutions and insights on compliant new products that create meaningful impact for our customers;
  • remain up-to-date on relevant industry, consumer protection, and advertising laws and regulations to ensure an ongoing ability to provide sound compliance advice;
  • draft terms of use, product policies, and disclosures, and work with our compliance teams to implement related processes;
  • develop strong, collaborative relationships with the business.

You’re a great fit for our team because…

  • you are a member of a state bar in good standing;
  • you have experience with the payments, banking, or FinTech industry, including its laws, rules, and regulations;
  • you have experience creating and negotiating agreements;
  • you easily develop productive business relationships;
  • you’ve worked with the laws and regulations of banking, consumer finance, and FinTech industry;
  • ideally, you have experience working with regulatory bodies (e.g., CFPB, OCC);preferably, you have over 7 years of law firm, government, or in-house experience.

Office Location

We are open to hiring remotely for this role. You could also work out of our Toronto, San Francisco or our Mountain View office—you decide!
