Zendesk is seeking an attorney to work closely with our North American Enterprise Sales teams and other internal supporting GoToMarket (GTM) functions to assist with sales contract processes and customer transactions! This person will be responsible for contributing to a successful legal support program of the GoToMarket teams in North America while being responsive to the business needs of the organization, managing risk and adhering to company policies. This attorney role will also be responsible for negotiating sales agreements,crafting forms, managing inquiries about legal processes, terms, and policies, and reviewing and responding to requests in a timely manner. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing legal issues in multiple states, numerous transactions, including related contracts and documents, while remaining responsive to internal clients and managing expectations effectively!


  • Partner closely with our Sales, Security, Finance, and other business teams on commercial matters
  • Manage the drafting, negotiating, and maintaining various commercial and technology related sell-side agreements, including subscription agreements, business associate agreements, and data processing agreements.
  • Conduct and contribute to other legal projects supporting the North American Enterprise Sales and GTM teams.
  • Develop and automate processes to scale efficiencies in the sales support functions
  • Provide practical mentorship to other teams that take legal and business considerations into account.
  • Researching and implementing commercial, data privacy, security and regulatory practices and policies consistent with applicable laws and regulations in North America.
  • Provide legal training to the GTM teams as needed.


  • 6+ years of substantive commercial legal experience, preferably in-house at a SaaS technology company.
  • Experience with SaaS technology transactions and commercial regulations that apply to SaaS technologies in North America.
  • Some experience with privacy and data protection laws, regulations and standards, including CCPA preferably in the technology context.
  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements typical to the technology sector, such as Subscription Agreements, NDAs, Services Agreements, Data Processing Agreements and technology partnership agreements.
  • Ability to work with Sales, Finance, Security and GTM teams collaboratively.
  • Capacity to work in a high volume environment while remaining analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to own a process from start to finish and implement processes independently.
  • Licensed to practice law in a state within the United States.
