Hi, we’re Oscar. We’re hiring a Product Manager to join our Insurance Experience team.

Oscar is a technology-driven, consumer-focused health insurance startup founded in 2012 and headquartered in New York City. Our goal is to make health insurance simple, transparent, and human. We need your help to do so.

Oscar Product is a growing, fast-paced team using technology and design to revolutionize healthcare. As a Product Manager, you’ll play a key role in helping Oscar solve problems and accelerating your team’s execution. In this role, you’ll join our Insurance Experience product team. You’ll have the opportunity to drive a core part of our user experience, helping users better understand and engage with their insurance, payments, benefits, and claims. This involves building digital user experiences in our mobile and web applications, processes and data-models to make navigating the mechanics of health insurance seamless and user-centric.

You will report to our Director, Product Management in our NYC office. This is a remote role, you will work remotely in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington. Note, this list of states is subject to change.


  • Great at prioritizing. There are a million ways to make the healthcare experience better – we can’t fix all of them at once! Where will you start and why?
  • A researcher. You can think creatively about how to get the information you need to prove or disprove your hypothesis using user research or data (hard data skills like SQL a plus).
  • Collaborative. You love helping engineers, designers, operations experts, and other teams around you do their best work. You are always driving towards a decision.
  • UX-oriented. You are highly empathetic towards users and understand them well. You regularly seek out information and feedback from your users to drive your work and know how to pull out the most important signals from the noise.
  • Comfortable with complex systems. You know how to analyze and decompose a complex system into its member parts; communicate that complexity simply and cleanly; and translate such complex systems into seamless user experiences.
  • Experienced. You have worked directly with engineers and designers in product management roles for 2+ years.


  • Defining the business and user goals of a product team focused on helping users better understand and navigate their insurance, payments, benefits, and claims.
  • Work with engineers, designers, product managers, and other company partners to create specs and implement features.
  • Make sure your projects are progressing smoothly, while weighing the trade-offs among speed, scale-ability, simplicity, and quality.
  • Produce insights from data and user research to help you identify potential improvements.
  • Coordinate and organize work across multiple perspectives and functions within Oscar.
