The Role at a Glance

We are excited to bring on an experienced Full Stack Developer to our Group Protection Solutions team.

Background Details:

As Lincoln Financial Group continues through its technology transformation journey, our Group Protection Solutions team has led the way. As part of the IT team, this full-stack developer will help to build business solutions. You’ll have the opportunity to work with many technologies and on a team that has fully adopted agile. As a member of this software development team, you can expect to implement multiple application enhancements and integrations, be challenged to learn a wide range of technologies, and help migrate systems to the cloud. Lincoln’s Group Protection Business is evolving and embracing technology transformation across the board, and in this role, you will experience a great deal of growth as LFG continues its technology transformation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Partaking in the full lifecycle of application development; from planning, writing, testing, building, deploying, and monitoring
  • Using tools with expertise such as Atlassian (Bitbucket, Bamboo, JIRA, Confluence), New Relic, and AppDynamics to drive operations and collaboration
  • Constructing and implementing software within a full-stack environment (Front end, API, backend, integrations)
  • Leveraging multiple frameworks across our various systems
  • Practicing and driving development practices such as DevOps (CI/CD)
  • Driving the transformation of systems, including Cloud adoption

What we’re looking for

Must-haves experience:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience developing applications in a Java framework
  • Experience with microservice design (Service-Oriented Architecture) and RESTful web services
  • Experience with a relational database (I.E. Oracle, Postgres)
  • Experience with Cloud (Preferably AWS)
  • Experience working within a fully dedicated Agile team
  • Open-minded, willing to learn new things and step out of your comfort zone to take on something new
  • 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience (Minimum Required)

Nice-to haves:

  • Experienced Spring Boot (Java) and React.js
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with SQL Server, MS Visual Studio
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Delivery and DevOps

Work Arrangement:

Work from Home (Excluding Colorado) : Employees will work fully from home. Their job will not require the employee to come into the office, unless for special circumstances.
