The Opportunity

When using an app or website, do you always think to yourself, “if only they’d done ‘X’, this experience would be so much better,” or “this would be very successful if it had a more creative interface?” When you’re solving a design problem does your mind immediately go to a wireframe before it goes to a fully fleshed-out comp? Ally is looking for you! An astute and hardworking Experience Designer who gets excited over progressive disclosure, flawlessly placed breadcrumbs, and the beauty of a finely tuned form. Overall, you have an understanding of responsive design, digital interface, grids, interactions, hierarchy, consistency, and making the user the center of every experience.

Ideally you consider yourself a creative with design training. But more importantly, you just get pumped about giving users the best possible experience.

The Work Itself

Collaborate with project teams across HR, technology, and business lines to define strategy, as well as site architecture and navigation

  • Iterate in creative sketch sessions with UX and clients—taking wires from low fidelity to high fidelity
  • Develop use case scenarios, flow diagrams, site maps, wireframes, high-level functional specifications, task analyses based on personas and research, and integrating these into product design
  • Work closely with usability engineering, visual design, content, product marketing, and product development to create the user experience that meets customer objectives and business needs
  • Assist with user research plan and partner interviews to understand requirements and facilitate change for the sake of the ultimate user experience when needed
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Ensure existing Ally UX style guide and standards are applied or considered for all concepts
  • Various other duties as assigned

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor degree in design, user experience, information architecture, marketing, information systems, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Portfolio required
  • Familiarity with Axure (or equivalent tool)
  • Proficiency in Sketch, InVision, and Adobe CC
  • Mobile-first design mindset with demonstrated capability and experience

Ally’s compensation program offers market-competitive base pay and pay-for-performance incentives (bonuses) based on achieving personal and company goals.   • Starting PayThe starting pay for this role is $70,000 per year/hour. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual bonus program with a target of 7% of annual base pay, based on individual and corporate performance. This is the starting pay for this role. Actual offers to be negotiated based on applicant’s qualifications and experience.
