How we work

We work fast, grow fast, and build fast. Life at MessageBird moves in fast-forward motion. We’re a team that focuses on making an impact — right from day one. We are go-getters, industry leaders, and dreamers. Risk takers. Roll-up-your-sleeves-and-make-it-happen kind of people. We thrive on transparency, and we value solution-minded attitudes.

We are all driven by one ethos: Get Shit Done. We love shaping things together and leveraging different perspectives, because that makes our products better. Our Birds are empowered with freedom and opportunity; in return, we expect honesty, courage, and agility. We own our work, and sometimes we fail. And then we get back up and cross the finish line — together as a team. Sound refreshing? We think so, too.

The role: People Operations Analyst

At MessageBird we don’t guess; we use data. Data drives all of our decision-making, and our HR organization is no exception. Our team provides processes, tools, know-how, data and insights to make it easy for the business to make informed decisions related to our workforce – whether that’s reviewing what talent we have in-house, developing people, recruiting the next Bird, or further enhancing our fun-loving culture. As our People Operations Analyst, you provide key administrative and analytical support in the areas of HR-analytics and reporting, payroll, compensation and benefits, and overall HR compliance and benchmarking.

Your innovative mindset ensures we work as effectively and efficiently as possible, your love for technology and data helps us maintain the integrity of the data that our HR teams are entrusted to steward, and your analytical and financial focus helps us put our “money where our mouth is”.

You’re a strong problem-solver who uses both quantitative and qualitative methods to get shit done. And on top of it all, you’re someone who wonders “what if?” and then seeks out the solution.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee the world of HR-data —help us build/implement reports, dashboards and all sorts of industry-leading data analytics + KPIs to drive people-decisions across our global business
  • Own the HR systems infrastructure (e.g. HRIS, ATS, HR Ticketing system, engagement tools, etc.) and help us make sure we have the best tools in-house (with accurate data) to support the business and our Birds
  • Ensure a smooth and effective integration and consolidation of HR data from acquired businesses into the MessageBird family.
  • Increase self service levels of our business by smart use of automatic processes and tooling to enable our business and reduce time spent on manual efforts in the People team.
  • Own all compliance and regulatory reporting for People topics. Including preparing data for benchmarking tools, and other systems where People data is used.

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of working experience, preferably in a fast-growing tech company
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field of studies (HR / Analytics / Finance)
  • Advanced Excel skills to include pivot tables, V-lookups, formulas, and modelling is a must
  • Well organized, structured and analytical mindset
  • Incredible attention to detail + ability to work (accurately) under pressure and deadlines
  • Ability to set/follow processes while remaining flexible and thinking outside-the-box
  • Full professional proficiency in English, both verbally and written

Psst… some added perks

  • The ability to Work Anywhere — literally anywhere you want, as long as it’s in the same time zone as your team (yup… you read that right!). This comes with the added benefit of finding the right work-life balance for you by following our 80/20 rule.
  • WFH office set-up allowance to make sure you have all you need to “get shit done” in an ergonomically-friendly manner.
  • Top-notch work equipment (including active noise-cancelling headphones!).
  • MessageBird swag to keep you well-dressed.
  • The occasional (virtual) company-wide and team events.
  • A team of (fast-)forward-thinking, talented and fun colleagues from more than 50 countries!

MessageBird is an equal opportunity employer. If you think you’re a match for this role and can bring some great skills to the MessageBird team, please apply! We’re excited to get to know you.
