You’ll be working with people and organizations across all of Zendesk, in a globally distributed environment, serving as the face of EDA and deepening partnerships and assuring our commitments are being met.

What you’ll be doing

  • Translate data and business requirements into a successful backlog with a multi-quarter to multi-year strategy. This will include creating, managing, and communicating a coordinated roadmap aligned to Zendesk’s technical and business objectives.
  • Act as an effective liaison between engineering and internal business partners. You are skilled at enabling a balance of “today,” “next,” and “transformation” as part of our feature delivery: You know the right balance between solving problems and jumping over them, and how adoption and business impact occurs in both cases.
  • Partner with engineering teams through the development and delivery of your product(s), being accountable for driving transparency, trust, and success. Build deep partnerships with our sister platform/ foundation team to know when we should leverage their services, build our own, or partner together.
  • Act as a thought leader within the company and enable the activation of data being treated as an asset. Through your work on the team, you’ll both influence and drive EDA and Zendesk’s overall priorities, and assure that we continue to focus on the most important work that improves the lives of our partners and customers.
  • Solicit and capture data platforms and product ideas from both inside and outside of the company. You will understand where Zendesk is at on a Data Maturity Index and will elevate our capabilities to continue leading as the Champion of Customer Experience.

What you bring to the role

  • 7+ years of experience working in technology companies/organizations with growing levels of responsibility enabling digital and data transformations.
  • 3+ years of recent experience being a product manager over teams driving transformation of data pipelines, data warehouse, data analytics, data science, machine learning, AI and related disciplines at scale with focus on business outcomes. Has built epics and managed priorities for these engineering teams and knows the lifecycle of how data, analytics, and data models are prioritized, developed, served, managed, matured, and transitioned.
  • Outstanding business acumen with an understanding of business drivers and of how to drive value to end customers. Will have experience working with business executives driving enterprise strategies and how technology enables them.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Global Teams and possessing a deep understanding of the leadership and emotional intelligence needed to support teams in multiple countries and cultures.
  • You are what we at Zendesk call “Humblident,” combining a strong sense of confidence with humility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of data movement, enrichment, and serving capabilities. You likely were a data engineer, architect, or a product manager/owner for a data streaming platform or data curation team before.
  • Expert at influencing executives and corporate strategy involving data.
  • Experience with data integration patterns at enterprise scale and how change control happens.
  • Strong knowledge of data contracts. Bonus points if you come with templates you have trained others to use before!
  • Strong experience working with GCP and/or AWS. Bonus points for being able to talk about data platforms and strategies across GCP, AWS, and Open Source technologies.
