CSS Staffing has an immediate opening for a local client for a Sr. Java Software Engineer. If you are a senior level Java engineer who excels at your craft and you appreciate being part of an environment where your skills will be recognized and appreciated, this may be the position for you. You will be part of a similarly seasoned and diverse team with exceptional depth and breadth of experience – you will be collaborating with a team of dedicated professionals. The client is a well-managed company with a growing customer base. They are headquartered in Omaha and serve the entire US.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 4 college degree or university program certificate, or 8 to 10 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of the following: Microsoft windows, SQL, FTP protocols, Java, JavaScript, JQuery, Angular, Eclipse, Spring, Foundation Framework, Source Control Software, LINUX or Unix, network protocols and related components is required
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of mobile development including Android and IOS
  • Proven knowledge with the following computer skills: Contract Management Systems, Database Software, Design Software, Development Software, Internet Software, Inventory Software, Spreadsheet Software and Word Processing Software
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player
  • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and practices in the applicable area of engineering/technical specialization


  • Write efficient well maintained code that follows company and industry standards
  • Participate in the testing process through test review and support
  • Actively participate with the customer to gather requirements and assist with design docs
  • Allowed to work with a high level degree of creativity and latitude
  • Expected to maintain multiple high profile projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrates expertise with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures to plan and accomplish goals
  • Troubleshoot system problems and issues and looks for ways to improve applications
  • Provide consultation on complex projects to the rest of the team
  • Capable of evaluating software and third party tools to determine value
  • Actively involved with the day to day Linux tasks that support the applications
  • Takes a leadership role in our disaster recovery test
  • Installs applications and provides guidance for new server builds
  • High level of competency on all aspects on all systems
