The IT Operations organization is seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer for the Application Technology Services (ATS) squad. Specific experience preferred would include strong Cloud System Administration skills, experience administrating large, complex Linux and Windows based applications and services. Account interface management for cloud providers (AWS, Azure), and the ability to support various other tools through good infrastructure development practices in an Agile working environment.

Application Technology Services provides architectural guidance along with support and enablement of engineering teams leveraging existing middleware, database and infrastructure capabilities. Embodying a DevOps culture based on partnership with application engineers and proven technologies, tools and practices, ATS builds capabilities that allow the organization focus on rapid delivery of business value. By taking a customer-centric approach to infrastructure engineering, ATS provides mission critical engineering enablement to GRM US.

  • Provides advanced system administration and operational support
  • Interacts with Software Product and Infrastructure teams to gather and define user stories
  • Performs Quality Assurance coding and design review; defects or discrepancies in requirements identified and resolved with appropriate Product Owners and application Software Developers.
  • Monitors system performance and capacity; reports changes in usage
  • Generate highly complex solutions and present designs to varied audiences.
  • Participate in the creation of the technical runway, partnered with architecture team
  • Analyzes user stories for validity and feasibility with the Product Owner and Scrum Master
  • Plans work out, escalates issues that may impact scope, schedule, budget.
  • Mentor new and junior engineers.
  • Identify and recommend appropriate continuous improvement opportunities
  • Anticipate and manage technology evolution and relate it to business solutions.
  • Foster team adoption of engineering best practice and operational excellence.
  • Evangelize a culture of innovation by leveraging industry insights, analytics and operational metrics.
  • Stay on top of technology trends; make strategic and tactical recommendations to support continuous improvement.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years related experience in software engineering, systems administration / analysis.
  • 5+ years working with cloud platforms
  • 5+ years of experience as an enterprise systems administrator in a client or server environment, including deployment automation tools, such as Ansible
  • Extensive knowledge of Linux based systems including hardware, software, networking, and storage
  • Experience architecting cloud infrastructures on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for small, medium scale and enterprise level applications
  • Certifications on Amazon Web Services, including Solutions Architect, Developer, Google Cloud or Azure are highly desirable
  • Specific experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including VPC, EC2, Network, ELB, EBS, EMR, Redshift, RDS, and IAM
  • Broad experience with cloud adoption, including application readiness assessment, prototyping of new environments, server builds, data migration, performance tuning of cloud environments
  • Technical knowledge of infrastructure components such as Network, Storage, Linux/Windows, Application knowledge of Java, .Net, and IT security
  • Experience with configuring software defined networking and security configurations, including security groups and ACLs
  • Experience with DevOps procedures and processes and with working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with troubleshooting very complex distributed environments pertaining to connectivity and application performance and monitoring tools and offering high-level strategic planning and advice to an entity that will allow for the successful adoption or migration of Cloud-based technologies or services
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; good presentation skills.
  • Naturally inquisitive with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Proficient in new and emerging technologies.
  • Proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker.
  • Consultative skills, including the ability to understand and assist in applying customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design, the ability to define design reasoning, understanding potential impacts of design requirements.
