Job Overview

This position will support the marketing department’s branding and lead generation efforts by writing thought leadership, corporate, and product marketing content such as emails, white papers, brochures, print ads, digital ads, website copy, landing page copy, and social media content. In addition, they will collaborate with the marketing strategy team and their fellow creative team members to create content that resonates with local government influencers and decision-makers and helps us forward our mission of helping government work better.

We’ll expect you to

  • Write clear and error-free content that follows CivicPlus brand standards across all communication channels.
  • Write content that supports Product Marketing Manager lead-generation goals and reflects product-specific messaging nuances.
  • Accept professional and constructive feedback graciously and can provide revised content that addresses requests timely.
  • Interpret creative direction and technical information and turn them into persuasive copy concepts.
  • Review and edit content provided by other stakeholders to meet brand standards and achieve optimal impact based on established goals.
  • Proofread content in layout or digital execution phases to ensure the highest quality final production.
  • Maintain regular communication and provide status updates to the Marketing Traffic Coordinator and Creative Director.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communication or marketing; master’s preferred.
  • 3-5 years of full-time copywriting experience in SaaS or another B2B space.
  • Excellent time management and creative confidence.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in writing for search engine optimization (SEO.)
  • Ability to tailor messaging by channel and product while working within brand guidelines.
  • Experience producing copy for brand awareness, public relations, editorial, and lead generation.
  • Exceptional skill in social media writing, including use of hashtags and relevant acronyms.
  • Capable of self-paced learning.
  • Demonstrate creative confidence.
  • Comfortable taking direction from stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to execute content quickly and following assignment criteria.
