Senior Back-End Engineer

Role Overview:

Mid-funnel team focuses on the onboarding experience of the user after sign-up. Our goal is to make the experience seamless with minimum distractions, in order to enable the user to get up and running with their Jimdo business.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design, develop, and optimize API services with a keen focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, understanding requirements and ensuring that the backend solutions integrate seamlessly with other components.
• Uphold a high standard of code quality through code reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices.
• Diagnose and resolve backend issues, aiming for minimal downtime and optimum performance.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in backend development.
• Provide insights and feedback to the Expert Engineer and other stakeholders, ensuring the technical feasibility and timeline of backend solutions.
• Mentor, support, and challenge developers more junior than you to foster growth and collaboration.

What you bring to the table:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development.
• Experience in building RESTful services and generating clients for it (eg: OpenAPI).
• Experience in NodeJS, Kotlin/Java and SpringBoot.
• Experience in CI/CD systems.
• Database Management experience: PostgreSQL, including schema design, optimization, and data modeling.
• Understand the need for Observability/Monitoring, and experience in setting up and reading, logs, traces and metrics.
• Familiarity with Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
