## Description:

Curious about what everyone actually wears while working from home. Are you team ‘forever PJs’, ‘business on top, party on the bottom’, or do you get fully dressed like you’re going to an office? Does it affect your productivity/mood? 🤔 #WFHFashion

Copy answer link Report answerAthleisure all the way! Comfy enough for home, presentable enough if I need to quickly run an errand or hop on an unexpected video call. Plus it motivates me to actually move/stretch during breaks. 🧘‍♀️

Coder Kate: I love that approach! Athleisure really does strike the perfect balance between comfort and practicality. Do you have any favorite brands or pieces you swear by? Report
Fern Cooke: Fern Cooke: Thanks, Kate! I’m all about Lululemon leggings—they’re super comfy and hold up great for both workouts and casual wear. Also, Athleta’s joggers are my go-to for that perfect mix of style and comfort. What about you? Report

Camera only sees from the chest up, right? Efficiency! 😉 Seriously though, comfort is key for me to focus for long hours

It is a mental trick...Helps me get into 'work mode'. If I stay in PJs, I feel sluggish all day. Each to their own though! 👔👟

Willow Howell: That makes a lot of sense. Dressing up can definitely shift your mindset and boost productivity. Do you have a go-to outfit that helps you feel most focused during work? Report
Diana H: Thanks, Willow! Yeah, I usually go for something comfortable but polished—like a nice blouse and tailored jeans with sneakers. It’s about feeling put together without sacrificing comfort. Makes it easier to stay sharp throughout the day! Report

Dr. Ben || [24 Jul 2024](https://jobicy.com/q/1721300400-pjs-all-day-or-actual-clothes-whats-your-style#answer-196.md) Copy answer link Report answerI have what I call “work pajamas” — they’re just a step up from what I sleep in. Think: cleaner, slightly more structured, maybe even matching. Comfortable enough to lounge in, but just polished enough to not feel like I just rolled out of bed. It’s a subtle trick, but it helps set a tone for the day when I’m working from home. That said, when I have important meetings, presentations,or just need to force a productivity shift, I’ll switch into real clothes — even jeans or a proper shirt. It’s not about impressing anyone on camera; it’s about changing my internal state. There’s a legit psychological effect to getting dressed with intention, and I feel sharper, more focused, and more "on."

Runner Ronnie [29 Jul 2024](https://jobicy.com/q/1721300400-pjs-all-day-or-actual-clothes-whats-your-style#answer-198.md) Copy answer link Report answerI actually found that wearing my running gear helps me to actually go for a run after work. If I'm already dressed for it, fewer excuses! Two birds, one stone. 🏃‍♂️

47
Elias Cruz: Love this! tbh I do the smae. Makes starting so easy!!! Any quick warmups you rec? 🏃 Report
* Anonymous: If wearing running gear reduces excuses does it actually reshape your identity as a runner over time or merely scaffold a habit that collapses when motivation wanes? Report
Runner Ronnie: Hi! For me, it started as a habit scaffold—putting on the gear made running feel natural. Over time, that routine helped shift my mindset, so I began to see myself more as a runner, not just someone who runs sometimes. So yeah, it can evolve from just a habit to part of your identity, especially if you stick with it consistently. Report

36
S. M.: Technically, it’s called “business casual” but your phrase nails the vibe. Do you find switching bottoms alone really boosts productivity or is it more about mindset? Report
Olivia Reyes: Hey, totally agree “business casual” fits too! For me, it’s more about mindset. Changing bottoms feels like a small act of getting ready for work, even if the top stays cozy. It kind of signals my brain to switch into focus mode without losing comfort. It’s a simple trick but it works! Report

It keeps my spirits high and adds a little personality to my workday. Sometimes I even throw on funky socks as a micro-celebration. Do people usually consider their sock game as part of their WFH uniform or is that too niche for the workflow synergy?

I’m usually in a clean tee, joggers, and socks that aren’t tragic 😅 Comfy vibes, but not bed-mdoe. If I stay in actual sleepwear, my brain just glides into lazy land. Getting dressed a bit is a tiny reset - huge W for focus

J. G. [20 Apr 2026](https://jobicy.com/q/1721300400-pjs-all-day-or-actual-clothes-whats-your-style#answer-7183.md) Copy answer link Report answerthe idea that staying in PJs all day boosts comfort and productivity is a dangerous myth—slouching in pajamas often leads to lethargy, brain fog, and blurred boundaries between work and rest, tanking output. Dressing fully isn’t about vanity; it’s a psychological anchor preventing the trap of endless procrastination and burnout. Even something as simple as changing into athleisure gear signals “work mode,” reducing distractions by up to 30%, while ditching shoes or tops can spiral focus down by double digits. The real risk? Underestiimating how your attire shapes your mental state, turnng flexibility into an excuse for sloppy work habits

How we moderate answers

We manually review all contributions to ensure that every answer provides clear, actionable, and professionally relevant guidance. We prioritize responses that show practical experience, cite real examples, or demonstrate familiarity with hiring, skills, and job-market trends. Low-quality, duplicate, or AI-generated content that lacks substance is filtered out to maintain accuracy and credibility across the platform.

What makes a high-quality answer

A high-quality answer offers structured, practical, and experience-based guidance that directly addresses the question. Strong answers include specific steps, industry examples, tools or frameworks, and clear reasoning rather than vague opinions. They avoid emotional language, personal journaling, or lifestyle advice, and instead focus on skills, responsibilities, hiring expectations, resumes, interviews, salary insights, and career transitions. Answers written by individuals with verified professional backgrounds or direct experience in the field are prioritized.

Expert participation rules

Experts participating in Q&A must base their answers on real professional experience, not speculation or generic statements. Contributors are encouraged to reference prior roles, industry exposure, hiring involvement, or relevant technical knowledge when appropriate. All expert responses must remain objective, neutral, and career-focused, avoiding promotional content, personal anecdotes, or lifestyle guidance. Verified experts may receive enhanced visibility on the platform, but only if their contributions consistently meet our quality standards and align with Jobicy’s career-focused topic guidelines.
